Under the School Sanitation Initiative, the following activities are conducted:
Cleanliness Drive – Promoting hygiene and maintaining a clean school environment.
Handwashing Awareness – Educating students on proper handwashing techniques.
Pledge Ceremony – Encouraging students to commit to cleanliness and hygiene.
Awareness Rally – Spreading awareness about sanitation through community engagement.
Drawing Competition – Encouraging creativity on the theme of hygiene and sanitation.
Essay Competition – Inspiring students to express their thoughts on cleanliness and health.
Street Play - Raising awareness through impactful performances.
Lectures – Informative sessions by health and sanitation experts.
Film Demonstration – Using visual media to educate about hygiene and sanitation.
Interview with Sanitation Workers – Acknowledging and learning from their experiences.
Quiz Competition – Enhancing knowledge through interactive learning.
Prize Distribution – Recognizing and rewarding participants for their efforts
Teacher's Training – Enhancing educators' skills and methodologies for effective teaching.
Balanced Nutrition – Promoting a well-rounded diet for better health and well-being.
Solid Waste Management – Zero Garbage & Recycling – Implementing sustainable waste management practices to achieve zero waste through efficient recycling.
Sweden Visit – Our school sanitation project is highly impactful and sustainable. Each year, students from Sweden visit our organization and local schools to study and understand its implementation.
Impact at a Glance
Total Students Benefited – 71,406 students
Schools Under the Project– 102 schools have actively participated in the initiative over the last 15 years.
Arogyadoots (Caretakers for this project in schools)– 5,426 students have been trained as hygiene ambassadors.
Teachers Engaged– 252 teachers have participated in implementing sanitation awareness programs.
Indirect Impact – The project has influenced the families of students, encouraging them to adopt better sanitation and hygiene practices at home.
Policy Impact –The issue of school sanitation was highlighted in the Maharashtra State Assembly, prompting the government to allocate resources for improving basic hygiene facilities in schools.
Recognition- Several schools under this initiative have been felicitated by Zilla Parishad under the Swachh Sundar Shala Puraskar for maintaining excellent sanitation standards.
